Simple Solutions

As a guy who grew up around technology, I’ve held great pride in excelling at most things “tech.”  

You know, I’m the guy in the family who runs “tech support calls” when someone’s router goes down, or someone has a question about something that plugs into something else. Pro tip: the answer is always unplug it, and plug it back in…. You’re welcome 😉

Maybe that’s you too?  (can I get a woop woop!)

But, one area I almost embarrassingly have felt way behind on was YouTube.  

It’s the second largest search engine behind Google itself, but until about 18 months ago, I never used it.  

Be Encouraged to Push Forward

Now, the way I learn how to bring technology or marketing tactics into my business so I can deploy them for clients is usually by playing with it myself.  So, it was no surprise that YouTube played little into my strategy until recently.

One of the beautiful things about YouTube is how it learns what you like to watch and gives you other things from its vast vault of video footage.

One such video was from a guy named Matt Kahn.  Since most of you will never have a Matt Kahn video pop up in your feed (I’m a closet hippy), I want to relate a concept I think will be useful for us:

The job of a coach is not to point out what is wrong, but to find what is right. They encourage and sometimes organize what you already have so the good already inside you can build momentum to achieve your innermost desires.

(now I’m TOTALLY paraphrasing, because I’ve yet to figure out how to search within the subtitles of a video…)

Don’t be Afraid to be Taught

Here’s what I’ve learned about working with people in the Agency Mastermind and ReviewPro Launchpad communities. Nearly all of them have so many things going right, and have so many of the qualities necessary for success & achievement.  The moment I help them put things into the right order is when the magic happens.

Rarely am I teaching this community something that they didn’t already KNOW.  After all, just like being our family’s tech support god, we have picked up so many of the technical skills necessary to succeed in the delivery of our services.  And, I find those who don’t feel this way are simply short changing their own value and they actually DO have what it takes.

Thank God for this: We’ve entered a period in our history where it is ACCEPTABLE to hire “normal” people to teach us the skills we need to achieve instead of relying on outdated, government-run schools taught by people who’ve rarely, if ever, had the experience we are aiming to attain. My hope is for my kids this isn’t just acceptable, it’s the STANDARD.

That statement may piss you off, and that’s OK.

Find Like-Minded Teachers

But what I beg of you to know is:

1. You have NOTHING to be afraid of.
2. You CAN’T fail.
3. You are already enough.

Because when you believe this is true and you surround yourself with people who are on the same journey, or seek the advice of someone who has ACTUALLY achieved the goal you’re after, that’s fire baby!
