Since I began my agency…
(It’s been 17 years now — time flies!)
People have always asked me —
“Mike, how did you know you were ready to start an agency?”
Of course, there are variations on this basic question, such as…
…how did I know it was the right time to do my own thing?
…how did I know I had enough knowledge to run my own business?
…what “backups” did I have in case this venture didn’t work out?
The truth is, I didn’t have any of these assurances.
I didn’t know that my agency would be successful.
I didn’t know whether I had enough experience to do my own thing, or if I should work for someone else.
And, scariest of all…
I didn’t know what I would do if my dream didn’t work out.
When I launched my agency back in 2003, I was only 22 years old.
I was fresh out of college, and my life was full of uncertainties…
In fact, many people could argue that this was the worst possible time in my life to begin a business.
I didn’t have savings to fall back on…
I was just beginning my career, and from the eyes of a 22-year-old, it seemed like it would be a whole lot safer to just work for another well-established agency.
But, in spite of these odds stacked against me, I decided to bet on myself.
I knew myself, and I knew that I would always regret it if I didn’t try.
I’m sure you can relate to this.
I’m sure there is something that you’ve always wanted to try in your career, but it never feels like the right time.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to work for yourself, but are too afraid of failing.
Maybe you’ve always wanted to start an agency, but don’t think you know enough about marketing.
Maybe you have an agency, but you don’t feel comfortable approaching the clients that you really want.
I’ve got news for you: if you don’t decide to take the leap in spite of the risks…
Then you will never know what you’re capable of.
The “right time” will never happen.
You need to make it happen for yourself.
That’s exactly what I did…
And, 17 years later, I couldn’t be happier.
If you’re struggling to take the next jump with your agency…
Of, if you’re finding it difficult to commit to your dream of being your own boss…
Then I invite you to watch my video about finding clients for your agency and making a steady, recurring income.
Trust me, it will never feel like the “right time” to take a risk with your career…
But if you never try, then you’ll never feel what it’s like to succeed.
You can decide that today is the right time to commit to your dreams.
