My guess is that your agency is known for…
… building really great websites
… running FB or Google Ads
… Email marketing
… Review & reputation management
… SEO
Is that how your clients and prospective clients see you?
Well, that’s the problem. That’s why you’re attracting low-budget (or no-budget) clients.
By now, you probably think I’m a bit crazy, but stick with me.
I believe that if you want to attract clients that have a budget, then you need to be known for something else entirely.
You need to be known as a company that helps businesses improve customer activity.
That’s what clients with a budget want.
(and here’s a secret, don’t tell anyone. Shhhhh!)
Almost all clients have a budget. It’s just that they are unwilling to open up their wallets on tactics and strategies because what they really want is the end result. More customer activity.
Have you ever heard the phrase, “sell the hole, not the drill?”
It’s all about the idea that nobody buys a drill because of the drill itself. They buy it because of their need to create a hole with the drill.
The same goes for web and digital agency services. Nobody buys a website for the website. Nobody buys FB ads for FB ads. Nobody buys review management for review management.
They buy these things because they want more customer activity.
Get it straight.
Clients have money. Just look at their car, their house, their office, their employees, and their equipment. That stuff costs money.
They’re just not spending that money with you because they don’t see (or believe) how your services will bring them more customer activity.
So, if you want to stop attracting low budget/no budget clients and instead attract clients who have budgets for web and digital marketing…. Get known for something else. Get known for customer activity.
Don’t sell them tactics. Show them how your tactics influence customer activity and watch those wallets open and those contracts get signed. Happy selling!
