How We Captured 75% More in Our Web & Digital Marketing Sales Process

Communicate Simply

I don’t often get to see my competitor’s sales proposals, but when I do, I’m shocked. (And kind of glad.)

Would you love to know the key difference between the way my sales presentations are setup that differ greatly from all the other proposals I see?

(You may not be that surprised, but here it goes.)

We design them to communicate and unfold a story, page by page.

I see so many proposals that were typed up in Word, expertly formatted with Headings, bolds, italics and a little brand color to “make it pop.”

So silly.

Years ago I ditched the word proposals and jumped into a Google Slides or Powerpoint format so I had the freedom to visually communicate.  After all, that’s kind of what our business does for a living!

Types of Learners

Why do I do this?

There are 4 types of learners.  Maybe you’ve heard this before?

  1. Reading/Writing
  2. Auditory
  3. Visual
  4. Kinesthetic

Most proposals I see only hit “reading”.  That’s 1 in 4. 75% of the people you present to would be more likely to buy if you presented it to them in another way.  How do we cover the other three?

Visual:

By using Slides or Powerpoint, we can use more graphics to communicate visually.

Auditory:

By walking the client through the proposal, page by page, we can tell the story and cover the auditory learners.  We never just “email them the proposal.” We always present in person, by video conference or last option is send them a video walk-thru.  This is easy to skip, but DON’T!

Kinesthetic:

Brace yourself ;)…. We PRINT and BIND the proposal.  In this digital age, I know it’s crazy to do that. But some people just need to hold the proposal, feel the weight of its pages to really connect with the message AND value.

The Best Proposal

These are simple things to do, and they make an incredible difference.  When we hit all four of these learning modes (and let’s face it, a proposal is not just selling, it’s educating), we sell a high percentage of prospective clients and set ourselves apart from our competitors.

If you want to get a peek into a proposal that was designed for the 4 Learning Styles, I’ve created a free training that covers how create the perfect web design proposal document.

We have refined our current process over the past 16 years after building thousands of websites for our customers.

In this training, we will show you what to include in your proposal as well as what to say to get your prospective clients to buy.
