Scale & Profit Love Simplicity

My coach once told me that the definition of a business is a COMMERCIAL PROFITABLE ENTERPRISE THAT RUNS WITHOUT YOU.

Anything else is just a J.O.B. that makes you work too much for too little money.  You don’t own a business, you own your own job.

But, how can your agency run without you when the client is literally hiring YOU?

They are hiring you for your talent, skills, and knowledge.

They hire you because they are impressed with your experience and ability to do the work.

If you feel like it’s impossible to hand off work to someone else because…

… there’s nobody to hand it off to

… someone else would just mess it up

… it would take more time to get someone else to help

… it would cost too much money to hire help

And the big one…

… the client hired YOU, not someone else on your “team.”

Then, consider that your projects might have been set up or sold with too much complexity.

The difference between me having an agency that runs WITHOUT me instead of one that had to run WITH me was the DECISION to change how I structured my project offerings.

You need to simplify.

The biggest businesses in the world have scaled up because of their ability to simplify, not by getting more complex.

Scale and profit loves simplicity.
