The more you WANT a client to say YES to your proposal….
The more likely they are to say NO.
“Commission Breath” is a real thing.
Clients can smell it. And it doesn’t smell good.
The best way I’ve found to close client projects (even when it’s really important) is to disconnect from the outcome.
I have to carry the attitude of… “if I get hired, GREAT! If not, NO PROBLEM!”
Easier said than done, unless… you follow a sales process.
Think of it this way…
When a cook follows a recipe, how stressed can they be about the dish coming out right? Not much. They don’t need to worry about how it’s going to turn out. The recipe has already been proven.
If you want the same thing in your agency, you just need a proven sales process.
